Traveling by Train

When my family and me went to Chicago we decided to travel by train. It was my first time. On the train my children were very happy, they liked seeing all things by the windows. In the train we went to take breakfast while looking outside. It was great! If you want to travel this is a good idea to do, because you have a time to talk with your family and enjoy.

I love trains! You get to see and experience so much more than by driving or flying. I'm glad you had the opportunity to travel by train with your family. I still remember fondly my first train ride to Arizona when I was about 8. I made friends with a little girl my age who was African-American; it was my first time ever having a friend that was a different skin color than me.

I would like to travel by train someday. I think it is so exciting, and fun, but I wonder if you feel dizzy or something when you are traveling by train. I hope not.

Mary you are very intelligent in travel by train with your family.
I think that your children enjoyed more than you the travel because they can walked around of the train, and watched the mountains, lights at night. Mary I'm wait that you do other ride again.

Maria -- I love to travel by train too! I love what you can see from the windows, and that you are traveling at the right speed to really see things. I love the feeling of the way the train moves -- the rhythm is very soothing. I usually fly these days but I wish I could go by train to the places I need to go. I have lots of fond memories of train trips here in the U.S. and in other countries too.
Thank you for reminding me of those trips!

Although passenger trains are the Superior way to travel, they're on the way out in the US. Amtrack keeps closing routes. Most people like the freedom that cars can offer but they're socially isolating, take a high environmental toll, and travel in them is boring.

Take that train ride while you still can

I grew up out on Long Island and would often use train transport to truck myself in and out of NYC. I miss it. There is something about the constant pace and "on rails" feel of riding on a train that I miss.
